Genuine rural location in a tiny hamlet with olive groves and a goat farm down the hill. The grounds and accommodation are really as stunning, clean and tidy as in the pictures. A great deal of thought and effort has gone into the property for the guests to enjoy their stay. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking. Rich and his friendliest of dogs were always available. There is super fast Wi.Fi to plan excursions. Saying that, we spent a whole day by the pool (unheard of for us) I blame the comfortable sun loungers!

We stayed in Oliva, a lovely little Casita with rural views across to the hilltop village of Comares. The instructions supplied by Rich on how to get from the airport were perfect and the Casita was spotlessly clean on arrival. The bedroom has one of the comfiest king size beds that we've had on holiday and there's a lovely area just outside the patio doors for eating breakfast and having a BBQ. A lot of thought has gone into the layout of the gardens to make sure that both Casitas have privacy and to take advantage of the views. The hot tub is perfectly positioned to enjoy views of Comares as the sun goes down. The pool was clean, well maintained and positioned just right to catch the cooling afternoon breezes. There's a large olive tree offering shade at the side of the pool and plenty of parasols. The Wi-Fi was reliable and the water supply plentiful. Thank you Rich for sharing your Spanish hideaway with us!

We spent two amazing weeks relaxing at this picturesque place. The views are simply stunning; from where we were staying we could see mountains, hill top villages and beautiful farmland. The finca is surrounded by olive groves and fruit trees.

We stayed at Olivia, which was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The finca was very well equipped and there really was everything we needed. It was lovely to find complimentary food and drink, including water, wine and beer in the fridge on arrival.

Our hosts Rich and Sue are lovely people and perfect hosts. They made us feel very welcomed and as others have already said, they make a real effort to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Rich and Sue have put a lot effort into making the fincas a lovely place to spend time and in our view they have got it just right.

We loved spending time around our finca, which was very private. We spent many days around the swimming pool, in the evenings we used the hot tub where we would sit and look out at the stunning views (so relaxing).

We would highly recommend staying at this location. We had one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays we have ever had.

Many thanks and best wishes to Rich and Sue.

Michael and Aneta

My partner and I enjoyed a stay at Castia Jasmin. After a bit of trouble at the airport, with the hire car, we ended up arriving very late. Rich's helpful and very concise directions got us to the house without any hitches and he was helpful and cheery despite us being so late. The items of food and drink that he provided were very welcome indeed.

As we arrived in the dark, it was lovely the next morning to wake up and walk around the beautiful gardens and rural setting. The grounds were immaculate, very clean and the house was well equipped. The area has some amazing views, you really do get to appreciate the vastness of the country, and there are plenty of walks to go on and places to visit.

I do recommend checking the information folder in the house before setting off out and about. Do buy a map of Malaga and surrounding region - sometimes the road numbers have a habit of disappearing on the road - but we managed to find our way around quite well, apart from an unplanned trip to Cordoba (navigator was having a bad day!) – the communal fridge which Rich keeps stocked with wine and beer for people’s convenient purchase came in very handy at the end of that day!

This is a real get away from everything, self-catering holiday ideal for anyone who wants peace and quiet in stunning surroundings. However, Rich and Sue are always on hand with helpful information and advice should you need it, striking just the right balance of being left alone but knowing there is someone who can help if you need it.

Further, we managed to leave a camera charger at the house. Rich was very kind in returning it to us in the post and it turned up pretty quickly.

Thanks to Rich and Sue for a pleasant week’s stay.

What a great place to stay and holiday!
We stayed in Casita Jasmin which is very well equipped with everything you need on your holiday. On arrival we were greeted very warmly by Richard & Sue and they had even gone to the trouble of providing a ‘welcome pack’ with a few essentials like water, bread and most importantly – wine! The Casita was very clean throughout and it was a blessing to have the little log burner which we used on the chilly nights. There is a BBQ in the garden should you wish to use it and also a large separate store room which included a washing machine and tumble dryer. In the store room there is also a fridge/freezer stocked with emergency food and drink items to purchase which we thought was very thoughtful. There is plenty of garden furniture for lounging the day away in the sun and the Casita also has a great WiFi connection. Richard was always available to answer any questions, whether it was about the Casita or the surrounding area and was also very considerate in ensuring you have maximum privacy. The hot tub was brilliant! Just to sit and relax whilst soaking in the incredible view was something else. We couldn’t take advantage of the pool just with it being too cold still, but that will just spur us on to return at a later date in the year when the weather is warmer. If you only do one thing whilst you are here, visit Comares. It is a truly stunning little village sitting on top of a mountain which you can actually see from the Casita. Riogordo is only 4 miles away, so it is very useful for buying your food and drink items from the local shop and everyone is very friendly. We also took a drive down to the caves in Nerja which were incredibly fascinating and well worth the trip. In summary - great location and great accommodation! Cannot wait to return!
Thank you very much Richard & Sue!

Admin reply: Ian & Hannah, it was lovely to meet you both, how fortunate you were to catch each other crossing the Irish sea. Your kind words are much appreciated, it is what we do and our guests are why we do it. All the best for the future. We look forward to welcoming the "three" :!lipssealed: of you some time in the future.

We arrived to a warm welcome from Rich and Sue, lovely people who can't do enough for you, but also give you solitude, they understand it's your holiday.
The property is well equipped, the wood burner kept us warm as did the hot tub with the views to die for! Everything is included in the price - it is very good value for money.
The nearest bar/restaurant is a mile away but the speciality roast whole leg of lamb recommended by Rich was simply incredible. booking required 24hrs in advance - Rich will do it for you. Beer at 2€ a pint, and good rioja 7€ in the restaurant seal the deal!
A car is a must, the mountains and villages are the Spain that we wanted to see - we're not the sunbed types.
If you want to get away from the rat race, see beautiful Spain, from a comfortable base - this is the property for you.

Admin reply: We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay in Jasmin, and yes the Lamb at Bar Ortega is to die for. Thanks for the wood you collected :D and the lovely bottle of Rioja you left us as a gift :!rock: , very kind. Rich & Sue.

Casita Jasmin was a lovely place to stay, even in Decemeber. It was warm enough to have breakfast on the terrace with the superb view of Comares and the log burning stove made the place very snug in the evenings. Of course having a hot tub to sit in as well was great.

Every evening we would soak watching the sun set and the stars come out.

Well situated for walks and for getting to places like El Torcal or Granada (less than 2hrs drive).

Rich and Sue were great hosts - very welcoming (thanks for the wine! :)) and then left us in peace but we always knew they were there if we needed them.

Admin reply: Having come from and gone onto other accommodation we are so very pleased you enjoyed your Xmas week here in Sunny Spain. Yes the hot tub in the cool winter evenings is one to treasure, many thanks.

What a beautiful setting, sitting in the hot tub with such a fantastic view, breakfast on the patio etc. The accommodation was lovely and very toasty and cosy with the log burner alight (It's a little chilly in the evenings in November). Rich was helpful and offered any help we needed, although we didn't see him a lot as we were out and about so all felt tranquil and peaceful. The roads were very peaceful which made getting around simpler and there are lots of fab and interesting places within easy reach.

Thanks from Louise and Steve.

Admin reply: Glad you both liked it Louise, yes the little log burner does throw out some heat doesn't it. We're happy you both had a calm and relaxing time.

Lovely casita, lovely hosts, and lovely countryside. A most relaxing spot for a vacation. I always enjoyed my morning coffee on the terrace overlooking the valley.

Rich and Sue are excellent hosts, and Rich happily showed me some excellent hiking routes on a map. I do suggest the walk to Comares Village.

Admin reply: You are very modest Jonathan, the walk up to Comares is something else, and the walk down ! Hope life is treating you well back in the US, you're a true gent.
